Clear Refund Guidance for Online Quran Lessons

Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy explains how Quran Learning UK approaches refund requests, statutory cancellation rights, service problems, future unused lessons, tutor-side cancellations and learner-side missed lessons. Which Refund Situation Applies?

Choose the Scenario Closest to Your Case

This guide separates statutory cancellation, service-side problems, unused future lessons and learner-side missed classes so they are not treated as the same issue.

No paid lesson supplied yet

If You Change Your Mind before Regular Paid Lessons Begin

Contact Quran Learning UK promptly and identify the booking and payment. Refund entitlement depends on the payment status, the agreed booking conditions and any statutory cancellation right that applies.

  • ✓State that regular paid lessons have not started
  • ✓Provide the payment date/reference if available
  • ✓Identify whether a trial was free or any paid service was supplied
  • ✓Ask for written confirmation of the outcome
Important

No Hidden “First Lesson” Rule Is Assumed Here

This policy does not invent a blanket rule that refunds automatically disappear after a particular lesson unless such a term was lawfully disclosed and applies to your booking.

Distance contract

Many Online Service Contracts Carry a Statutory Cancellation Period

Where the UK Consumer Contracts rules apply, a consumer generally has 14 days from the day after the service contract is made to cancel, subject to the statutory rules and exceptions.

  • ✓You normally do not need to give a reason
  • ✓If no service has started, statutory cancellation may result in a full refund
  • ✓If you requested early performance, a proportionate charge may be lawful
  • ✓Mandatory rights override inconsistent policy wording
Early lessons

Starting Lessons during the Cooling-Off Period Changes the Calculation

Where the legal requirements are met and you expressly requested the service to start early, the provider may be entitled to payment for the proportion already supplied if you then cancel.

Service issue

If the Agreed Service Is Not Properly Supplied

UK consumer law provides remedies where a paid service is not performed with reasonable care and skill or does not match information that became part of the contract.

  • ✓Explain what service was agreed
  • ✓Explain what was not supplied or what went wrong
  • ✓Give Quran Learning UK an opportunity to review the issue
  • ✓Applicable remedies may include repeat performance or a price reduction
Examples

A Website Promise and Your Actual Booking Are Not Always the Same Thing

The key question is what information formed part of your particular contract — including the agreed tutor arrangement, lesson format, course and timetable.

Paid but unused

Separate Future Lessons from Lessons Already Delivered

If a payment covers a period containing both delivered and future lessons, identify the unused portion clearly. Whether unused future lessons are refunded, credited, carried forward or otherwise handled depends on statutory rights and the booking terms that apply.

  • ✓List the lessons or service period already supplied
  • ✓Identify future unused lessons
  • ✓Check the cancellation terms confirmed before payment
  • ✓Ask how any eligible amount has been calculated
Calculation

Refunds Should Not Be Calculated Arbitrarily

If only part of a paid service is refundable, the calculation should reflect the contract, services supplied and any applicable legal requirements.

Attendance / rescheduling

A Learner-Missed Lesson Is Not Automatically the Same as a Refundable Service Failure

If the tutor was available and the learner missed or joined late, the applicable rescheduling, credit or missed-lesson rule depends on the terms supplied for that booking.

  • ✓Check whether advance notice was required
  • ✓Check whether a make-up lesson was offered
  • ✓Do not assume a refund or replacement is guaranteed
  • ✓Emergency circumstances can still be raised for review
Not invented

No Fixed Notice Period Is Stated without Confirmation

The exact notice period must come from Quran Learning UK’s actual booking practice, not from another academy’s policy.

Refund Framework

Six Principles for Handling Refunds Fairly

A refund decision should distinguish statutory rights, services already supplied, provider-side failures, future commitments and learner-side attendance issues.

01 • LAW

Mandatory Consumer Rights Come First

A policy cannot remove a statutory right that legally applies to the customer’s contract.

02 • SERVICE

What Was Actually Supplied?

The outcome may differ where no paid lesson has begun, part of the service has been delivered, or the whole paid period has already been supplied.

03 • CAUSE

Who Could Not Deliver?

A tutor/service-side cancellation is different from a learner who misses a lesson despite the tutor being available.

04 • FUTURE

Separate Used and Unused Service

Where appropriate, future unused paid lessons should be distinguished from teaching already received.

05 • TERMS

Use the Conditions Actually Disclosed

Notice periods, make-up lessons and cancellation rules should only be relied on if they formed part of the customer’s booking on a fair and lawful basis.

06 • RECORD

Explain the Decision Clearly

A customer should be able to understand whether a request was approved, rejected or partly approved and how any amount was calculated.

Statutory Cancellation & Service Rights

Your Legal Rights Sit alongside the Booking Policy

Contractual refund rules cannot lawfully take away mandatory rights that apply under UK consumer law.

14 DAYS
Distance-service cancellation

Many online service contracts carry a 14-day statutory cancellation period, subject to the legal rules and exceptions.

EARLY
Early performance

If you expressly request lessons to start during that period, a lawful proportionate charge may apply for service already supplied.

CARE
Reasonable care and skill

Paid services must meet applicable statutory standards, including reasonable care and skill.

FIX
Repeat performance / price reduction

Where statutory conditions are met, the law may provide a remedy if the service has not been properly performed.

FAIR
Fair terms

Hidden or unfair contractual terms may not be enforceable simply because they appear in small print.

How to Request a Refund Review

Send Enough Detail to Identify the Payment and the Lesson Situation

Written requests are easier to review when they clearly separate the amount paid, lessons already supplied, future unused service and the reason for cancellation or complaint.

Do not send full card details by ordinary email. A payment reference, invoice reference or transaction date is normally safer for identifying the payment.
Useful informationInclude where relevant
NAME
Payer / learner details

Name and email used for the booking.

PAY
Payment information

Payment date, amount and non-sensitive transaction/reference information.

USED
Lessons already supplied

Dates or number of paid lessons already received.

FUTURE
Unused future lessons

Identify the period or lessons you believe remain unused.

WHY
Reason for the request

Cancellation, service issue, duplicate payment or another clear reason.

OUTCOME
What outcome are you asking for?

Refund, partial refund, repeat lesson, credit or clarification.

Quran Learning UK Refund & Cancellation Policy

Read this policy together with the Terms & Conditions and the specific booking information supplied for your learner.

1. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to refund and cancellation questions relating to paid online Quran-learning services arranged through Quran Learning UK. It should be read together with the Terms & Conditions, the booking information supplied to you and any mandatory consumer rights that apply.

Where a specific booking condition conflicts with a mandatory legal right, the legal right prevails.

2. Free trial lessons

A complimentary trial can be requested before regular paid lessons. Because the trial itself is free, there is normally no trial fee to refund. Exact trial duration, tutor, platform and time are confirmed when the trial is arranged.

A free trial does not by itself commit you to regular paid lessons.

3. If you cancel before regular paid lessons begin

If you have paid but regular paid lessons have not yet begun, contact Quran Learning UK promptly. Refund entitlement will be assessed according to the payment status, any service already supplied, the booking terms and any statutory cancellation right that applies.

This policy does not impose an undisclosed “no refund after booking” rule. Any contractual restriction must have been fairly and lawfully communicated before the customer became bound.

4. Statutory cancellation rights for online service contracts

Where the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations apply, a consumer will generally have 14 days from the day after the service contract is made to cancel a distance service contract without giving a reason, subject to the statutory rules and exceptions.

If you want to rely on a statutory cancellation right, email info@quaranlearninguk.com and clearly state that you are cancelling the contract. Any refund required by law will be handled within the legally required timeframe.

5. If you ask lessons to start during the statutory cancellation period

If you expressly ask for paid lessons to begin before the statutory cancellation period ends, your rights may be affected by the services supplied before cancellation.

Where the legal requirements are met, Quran Learning UK may be entitled to charge a proportionate amount for the part of the service supplied before you communicated cancellation. If the service has been fully performed and the legally required request and acknowledgement were given, the statutory cancellation right may end.

6. If the service is not properly supplied

Paid services are subject to applicable UK consumer protections. If a service is not provided with reasonable care and skill or does not match information that formed part of the contract, statutory remedies may apply.

Depending on the legal conditions and circumstances, a remedy may involve repeat performance or an appropriate price reduction, which can include a refund of some or all of the price where the law requires it.

Please report the problem promptly and explain what was agreed, what happened and what remedy you are requesting.

7. Tutor-side cancellations or service interruptions

If a scheduled paid lesson cannot be delivered because the tutor or Quran Learning UK is unavailable, the appropriate remedy should be considered under the booking terms and applicable consumer law. Depending on what has been agreed and what is reasonable, this may involve an alternative lesson, replacement tutor, credit, rescheduling or refund for the affected service.

This page does not guarantee a particular replacement slot or remedy where the business has not yet confirmed the exact operating policy.

8. Learner cancellations, missed lessons and late arrival

If a learner cancels, misses or joins a scheduled lesson late while the tutor was available to teach, refund or rescheduling eligibility depends on the notice and attendance terms supplied for that booking.

Quran Learning UK will not rely on a fixed notice period unless that rule is part of the actual customer arrangement. Emergency or exceptional circumstances may be raised for review.

9. Paid but unused future lessons

If you have prepaid for a period that includes future lessons not yet supplied, identify those lessons in your cancellation request. The treatment of unused future lessons — refund, credit, carry-forward or another outcome — depends on statutory rights and the booking terms that were fairly agreed.

Where a partial refund is due, any calculation should distinguish services already supplied from services that remain unused and should comply with applicable law.

10. Duplicate or incorrect payments

If you believe you have been charged twice, charged an incorrect amount or paid after a cancellation should have taken effect, contact Quran Learning UK with non-sensitive payment-reference information. The transaction will be reviewed and any amount found to have been taken incorrectly should be corrected or refunded as appropriate.

11. Refund method

Where a refund is due, it should normally be returned using the original payment route where reasonably possible and lawful, unless another method is agreed or required. Do not send full card details by email.

If a payment processor or banking system affects the mechanics of the refund, the relevant details should be explained when the refund is processed.

12. Refund processing time

Where UK consumer law sets a specific refund deadline, Quran Learning UK will follow that legal deadline. For contractual refunds outside a statutory deadline, the refund should be processed without unreasonable delay after eligibility and payment details have been verified.

This policy does not promise a faster fixed processing period that has not been operationally confirmed.

13. How to request a refund or cancellation review

Email info@quaranlearninguk.com with the subject “Refund Request” or “Cancellation Request”. Include:

  • your name and email used for the booking;
  • the learner name where relevant;
  • payment date and non-sensitive payment/reference information;
  • lessons already supplied and future lessons affected;
  • the reason for cancellation/refund;
  • the outcome you are asking for.

Additional information may be requested where reasonably necessary to identify the contract or verify the request.

14. Disputes and complaints

If you disagree with a refund decision, reply to the written outcome and explain what you believe has been missed, including any relevant booking confirmation or consumer-right basis.

Nothing in this policy prevents you from using any external consumer remedy or complaint route available to you under applicable law.

15. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated for future bookings when the payment model, cancellation arrangements, service practices or law change. The latest version should show an updated date.

A later website-policy change does not automatically rewrite material rights already agreed under an existing customer contract. Existing arrangements must be handled according to the applicable contract and law.
